Our Commitment to Quality

From fertile fields to pristine waters. Birds Eye is there, taking the harvest and delivering to you the simple goodness of quality produce.

Only the best ingredients

At Birds Eye we believe in only using the freshest and best ingredients possible. Our commitment to quality stretches from the ocean and field to the plate, ensuring our products are full of nutritional goodness.

We work hand in hand with our suppliers—many of whom have worked with Birds Eye since the 1940s—from the planning stage right through to the catch or harvest.

Always simply good

We regularly review our products and develop ways to improve their nutritional value. We snap freeze our vegetables within hours of harvesting and we rapid chill our fish within hours of the catch. This locks in flavour and freshness and ensures maximum nutrient retention.

We also provide accurate product packaging and promotional materials that contain easy to understand nutrition messages, information and claims to assist consumers in making informed food choices.

Nature provides in abundance

We grow most of our vegetables in the rich, volcanic red soil of Tasmania, where the air is amongst the cleanest in the world. Tasmania's green, unindustrialised growing area and Mediterranean climate make it ideal for growing vegetables like the Russet Burbank potato, Royal Chantenay carrot and Marathon broccoli.

Crop planning starts months and sometimes years in advance. Each of our agronomists specialises in a particular type of crop, bringing their expert knowledge to bear in ensuring only the highest quality ingredients are presented at the plant for processing.

The ocean's best catch

As part of Birds Eye's ongoing commitment to the best ingredients, our fish is sourced only from well managed fisheries. Our fish is rapid chilled within hours of the catch, so it remains moist, succulent and delicious. Our freezing techniques mean our fish retains its natural goodness.
